Doolin nestles comfortably in the shadow of the Cliffs of Moher, facing out onto the Atlantic Ocean. It’s maritime history is rich and colourful and reflected in the local way of life. Doolin’s got caves, but it would be a mistake to think they are all on land. The Green Holes of Doolin are located just off Doolin Point and so far, approximately 1,300 metres of the caves have been charted. The Green Holes were discovered in the 1980s, so in Burren terms, they are a relatively new addition to the wonders of Doolin.
